Data Stewardship & Governance Lead
YOUR KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Data Stewardship and Governance Lead, are to:
- Establish the Plant Biotech data governance framework to manage data policies, standards, and practices to achieve the required level of consistency, quality, and protection of core data assets to meet overall business needs to achieve data democratization across the organization.
- Establish best practices and create processes to ensure data accuracy and access controls to monitor adherence to standards.
- Track & report on KPIs based on defined metrics to measure the success of implementation and adoption.
- Lead the implementation and adoption of Plant Biotech's data governance framework (meta data, master data, data business glossaries, and data quality) through modifications to the organization's culture and behavior using best practices in the data pipeline and processes, work with stakeholders to resolve data issues
- Serve as the Plant Biotech rep (primary point of contact) on data governance committees and core teams to ensure Plant Biotech data governance needs and requirements are clearly defined, communicated, and well understood and considered in alignment, prioritization, and planning
- Partner with Plant Biotech's data scientists, engineers and architects on the development and implementation of data governance standards in experiment designs, applications for data capture, data storage (i.e., data lakes, data warehouses), and analytical processes, including deep learning and machine learning efforts
- Work with data engineers and modelers to streamline the flow of data to stakeholders, which includes establishing streams to generate reports and visualizations and providing easy access to self-service tools to enable analytics and the discovery of new insights. Plant Biotech's representation on the Velocity Q&A steering team will work with stakeholders to define "questions and answers" for the organization

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Masters degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field 5 years' experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years' experience with data governance management tools (i.e., Collibra, Informatica, Tibco EBX Reltio, etc.)
- 2 years' experience with master data management, data integration, metadata governance, data analysis, or data quality to support cross functional business teams
- 2 years data governance policy, strategy or operations experience
- Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of the data lifecycle and how data policy/standards contribute to the overall value of data assets
- Demonstrated success developing and enacting complex strategies and initiatives to significantly drive R&D or IT impact and value creation.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and influencing skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and experience managing ambiguity.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and developing skilled team members in a global environment.
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $105,000 to $158,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
