Electrical Maintenance Engineer
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, are to:
- Understand, follow, and participate in the upkeep of Bayer electrical norms, practices, standards, guidelines, and procedures staying current with industry standards, technology and improved functional safety methods;
- Supports improvement projects (safety, yields, capacity, quality, reliability, and cost improvement), including alternatives and cost benefit analysis, as needed;
- Specify process instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, etc.), electrical distribution system components, as well as control devices, motors, VFDs, etc.;
- Provide technical support to other area engineers (production, process, mechanical, project) and technicians as needed on E&I technology for process troubleshooting, instrumentation performance, and process optimization with all changes documented through the Management of Change (MOC) process;
- Provide engineering support on the design and integration of process control systems such as DeltaV and programmable logic controllers (PLCs;)
- Review and evaluate vendor information for Electrical and Instrumentation components and determine suitability for specific project applications;
- Provide engineering direction for maintenance work restoring the process to operating condition in a minimum amount of time and provide follow-up direction as needed to minimize future recurrences while considering cost of repairs and operational implications;
- Create and modify documentation related to process operation, safety, and applicable environmental regulations, as needed - including Electrical and Instrumentation drawings and engineering flow diagrams/P&ID diagrams;
- Promote continued development of self and area personnel through training, mentorship programs, and real-time constructive feedback;
- Comply with Site safety requirements and actively work to improve safety through coaching or engineered solutions;
- Support Site and Area Production System improvements, OnePSS.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, related science, OR Electrical Engineering Technology Application Chemical Engineering. Individuals with an anticipated graduation date of December 2023 will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Co-op or Intern Electrical Engineering experience.
This position will be located at the Bayer Crop Science facility in Muscatine, Iowa.
