Maintenance Manager, Production
MAIN PURPOSE
Lead all 24x7 Packaging and Manufacturing Maintenance activities, including energy initiatives for the Product Supply-Consumer Health Manufacturing Facility at Myerstown, PA. Develop strategic plans and budgets for all new Packaging and Manufacturing projects and maintenance of existing equipment. Support the day-to-day project implementation and maintenance activities through Packaging and Manufacturing teams and third-party vendors. Develop projects including new and updated Packaging and Manufacturing installations assuring compliance with all FDA, EU and environmental authorities. Maintain subject matter expertise on energy consumption and identify ways to cut costs through better efficiencies. Establish excellent customer service to ensure employee and equipment needs are met and high level of productivity and reliability is maintained on a 3 shifts/24x7 basis
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Maintenance Manager, Production are to:
- Serve as the production equipment subject matter expert for Myerstown and assist other Bayer locations as required
- Manage reliability of equipment and procurement of technical spare parts
- Responsible for driving equipment reliability, reduction of unplanned downtime, increased OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) and increased efficiencies within Manufacturing and Packaging
- Manage and provide leadership to supervisors and multi-skilled personnel, balancing the requirement of the customers and adjust priorities accordingly (i.e. Production, QA, PrT and other Production Maintenance staff)
- Mentor less experienced supervisors and peers in supervisory and/or technical skills and knowledge
- Lead and provide technical input for the Preventive Maintenance program and Calibration Program for all production equipment
- Coordination of reliability strategies and interfaces between engineering functions, owns asset availability
- KPI ́s setting process for the site and aligns with all relevant stakeholders
- Maintain optimum operation of production support maintenance
- Conceptualize and evaluate alternate methods of maintenance projects and practices including identification of costs, technical feasibility, logistics and timing; make recommendations to management teams to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Provide technical input to the project design to maximize the operation and minimize operational costs to the organization
- Provide input for capital budget presentation
- Act as a liaison between company and outside contractors by providing technical data, overall supervision
- and monitoring maintenance projects.
- Prepare department budgets, cost estimates and installation studies for major production equipment projects; manage maintenance funds to control the costs of maintenance expenditures
- Oversee the maintenance budget and scope to ensure work is completed within stated objectives
- Direct maintenance teams to ensure high customer satisfaction, equipment & facility reliability and continuous improvement of the facility. Maintain expertise in FDA, EU, safety, state and local regulations to ensure facility meets all regulations
- Perform other tasks as assigned
WHO YOU ARE

- AS degree in Engineering or technical degree required with at least 10 years of supervisory experience preferred, or, BS degree in Engineering or technical degree required with at least 8 years of supervisory experience preferred, or Master's degree (technical) required with at least 6 years supervisory experience preferred
- At least 3 years of experience at a Pharmaceutical / Consumer Health / Manufacturing Operation within the total years of experience on the job preferred
- Strong leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage a maintenance organization in an FDA regulated facility
- Experience with small, medium and large capital project development and support
- Experience with equipment selection and vendor support
- Knowledge of operating within budgetary constraints
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of personnel (i.e. multi-skilled
- employees, site management, etc.) in a clear and concise manner
- Proven analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and conflict in a positive manner utilizing appropriate interpersonal skills
- Experience with utilizing a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) preferred

Salary : $86,500 - $110,000
