Risk Assessment Scientist
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Conduct research in pathogen evolution and design/develop assays to further native trait research.
- Review scientific literature to keep abreast of new developments and to aid in the design and development of original procedures and techniques.
- Work closely with a team of pathologists, data scientists, and plant breeders to deliver impactful scientific research.
- Keep informed of cutting-edge research and new technologies for plant health.
- Contribute to positive team culture and work ethos based on Bayer LIFE values.
- Share microbial expertise with R&D team and other departments.
Qualifications & Competencies
- PhD with relevant research experience, Master'swith relevant experience, Bachelors withrelevant experience.
- Experience with molecular techniques such as DNA extraction and PCR, bacterial culturing, microscopy, and statistical analysis.
- Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team-based environment.
- Knowledge and experience in plant pathology, molecular microbiology, microbial genetics or molecular biology.
- Results orientated with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/priorities simultaneously.
