What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Research Technician position at Baylor Careers?
The Animal Research Technician in the Baylor Science and Facilities department supports the mission of Baylor University by maintaining day-to-day administrative operations of the department.
A high school diploma, one year of relevant experience and an active Christian faith are required. A Bachelors degree and one year of relevant experience is preferred. A preference will be given to candidates that currently hold a Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) Certification or are currently a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT).
*Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a fulltime basis.
What You Will Do
- Perform animal husbandry duties for animals in a research setting.
- Perform cage changing and cleaning.
- Monitor and record daily animal health and welfare.
- Maintain accurate records of activities performed.
- Monitor and manage facility consumables.
- Perform cleaning/sanitation of the facility and equipment.
- Comprehend and comply with all facility standard operating procedures and quality assurance standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
