Progressive Care Unit

Patient Population: Trauma, High flow and ARVO Oxygenation systems, Vasoactive Drips, Chest pain, Stroke, Sepsis, Covid

Patient Ratios: 1:3 or 1:4

Number of Beds: 32 beds

Department Specifics: 77% BSN, Multidisciplinary Rounding (with Physicians, Case Management, PT/OT, etc.) for best patient outcomes and quickest recovery. Self-scheduling request system. We encourage our team to be involved in the unit through our Unit Based Council, education opportunities and other opportunities provided within Baylor.

Shift: Full Time Nights; 7pm-7am

Additionally, the facility is an accredited Cycle IV Chest Pain Center, Primary Stroke Center and accredited in weight loss surgery, oncology, etc. The hospital was recognized by U.S. News & World Report in its 2021-2022 “Best Hospitals” ratings as high performing in the common procedures and conditions category for stroke, heart failure, kidney failure and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). It was also recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the only Tarrant County hospital, and one of only two hospitals in the Dallas Fort Worth region, rated High Performing, the highest-possible rating for Best Hospitals for Maternity for 2021-2022. Registered Nurse Requirements

 

  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
  • License/Certification
    • RN – Registered Nurse
    • BLS – Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire)
