This position will be located in our Albuquerque, NM office.
The Instrumentation and Electrical Technician (I&E) will be an integral part of the hydrogen hub commissioning and startup team. The I&E Technician applies knowledge of process instrumentation and wiring to perform routine and more complex operations using tools and equipment appropriate for the position. Plans and accomplishes a complete range of operational assignments and tasks related to installation, integration, maintenance, and repair of the instrumentation, electrical, electronic systems, and equipment in hub operations.

JOB SUMMARY

The Instrumentation and Electrical Technician (I&E) will be an integral part of the hydrogen hub commissioning and startup team. The I&E Technician applies knowledge of process instrumentation and wiring to perform routine and more complex operations using tools and equipment appropriate for the position. Plans and accomplishes a complete range of operational assignments and tasks related to installation, integration, maintenance, and repair of the instrumentation, electrical, electronic systems, and equipment in hub operations.
- Support proper specification, and ensure calibration of, process instruments in the hub hydrogen generator. Verify that factory wiring/cabling is per drawing requirements.
- During the commissioning phase, ensure that instrument I/Os are wired properly to control panels, perform required control loop checks, and properly document prior to startup.
- Develop and document procedures for calibration and instrument verification, in collaboration with the operations team.
- Look for opportunities to streamline procedures or improve their repeatability; identify process points where instrument accuracy, range, or sensitivity could be improved.
- Work with technology and operations during the commissioning and startup phase of future hubs, executing controls, instrumentation, and electrical tasks onsite.
- Work with operations and vendors to troubleshoot, repair and replace process instruments as needed during startup.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.
- Maintain training certifications as required.
- Accurate and timely submittal of timecards and procedure documents.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in electrical engineering technology preferred.
- 2 years of experience working as an instrument or electrical controls technician, or able to demonstrate equivalent electrical/electronic aptitude.
- Ability to read and comprehend P&IDs, loop diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Working knowledge of PLC logic troubleshooting is desirable.
- 20% of travel.
- Have a basic knowledge of chemistry and physics.
- Ability to lift loads up to 40 lbs. and stand for up to 8 hours.
- Must be able to work at heights and climb stairs and ladders.
- Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays if necessary. Work for long periods. Must be flexible.
- Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
- Must have basic computer experience.
- Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace.
