Research Associate, Biology

W2 Contract

Salary Range: $79,000 - $89,500 per year

Location: San Carlos, CA - Onsite Role

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide support in the planning, execution, and analysis of experiments.
• Effectively presents research findings to the Biology team.
• Perform isolation and cryopreservation of mononuclear cells from whole blood or tissue.
• Assist in maintaining, expanding, and archiving cell lines using aseptic techniques.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
• Perform routine quality control procedures and schedule maintenance and certification of laboratory equipment as needed.
• Maintain the highest quality standards in compliance with safety and environmental precautions.
• Collaborate with Finance and maintain accounting for laboratories, such as purchase order requisition, laboratory budget querying, and maintaining vendor relationships.
• Collaborate with the HR and Safety teams to implement federal, state, and local COVID workplace protocols.
• Managing biohazardous waste and chemical (CO2 and LN) streams, including safety checks and equipment inspection.
• Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Immunology, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of practical lab experience in an industrial or academics
• Background in immunology, cell biology, or related discipline.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and PBMC isolation
• Flow cytometry experience is preferred
• Basic knowledge of laboratory practices and safety.
• General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master scientific applications.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Able to work independently while effectively interacting and collaborating in a team environment.
