PURPOSE:
A qualified high line Service Consultant is responsible for service sales and gross profit, and for proper handling of service customers. By his/her actions, the Service Consultant influences the volume of service business and plays a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction. The Service Consultant is the dealership's first-line customer relations and service sales representative.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years of experience in the high line automotive market
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient knowledge of DMS services
- Ability to work well with others within the dealer network.
- Maintain a high level of professional personal appearance and conduct.
- CSI focused
- Korean or Chinese Speaking Preferred
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Greet each customer in a prompt, courteous manner 100% of the time and never differentiate between customer that is paying for service and warranty service. Acknowledge customers who are waiting in line and let them know that they will be helped soon.
- Schedule appointments using the format of available shop hours.
- Communicate with customers to determine the nature of the service appointment. Listen to and help interpret customer's statements and concerns accurately.
- Obtain customer and vehicle data. Also update any new client information (e.g. telephone numbers, address...)
- Ensure customer signs repair orders or service requests before leaving dealership. This is done for proper authorization.
- Advise customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
- Point out additional needed service work and actively promote service sales.
- Ensure all repair orders are tracked and accounted for.
- If additional work is needed, explain to the customer, including the additional cost and time consideration and document properly on the repair order.
- Indicate on repair order the exact information needed to properly diagnose the customer's concerns.
- Properly identify repair orders that need special handling such as a repeat concern, customer waiting, etc...
- Provide estimates for parts and labor. If initial cost cannot be determined at point of write up, leave estimate slot open and contact client after proper diagnostics has been performed.
- Set a time with the customer when and where they can be contacted to discuss the status of their vehicle.
- Follow up the progress of each repair order during the course of the business day. Contact customers regarding changes in the original estimate or time promised. Record changes on repair order in approved fashion
- Handle telephone inquiries regarding work in progress and appointments and return telephone messages in a prompt manner.
- Review repair order with client and explain repairs performed and any charges (if applicable)
- Advise client of future maintenance or repair needs.
- Escort customer to cashier desk.
- Redeliver vehicle to client once complete.
- Interpret warranty information and policies to customers.
- Keep Service Manager informed of all problems and potential problems concerning repairs, customers and equipment.
- Attend training classes as directed by dealer management.
