Payroll/Accounting Clerk Job Description
OVERVIEW:
Boston Behavior Learning Centers (BBLC) is comprised of highly experienced professionals providing ABA services to individuals with autism spectrum disorders and related disabilities in the home and community. We are also a Specialty Service Provider for Early Intervention Services for children under the age of three years.
The Payroll/Accounting Specialist will be a key team member of BBLC’s mission to provide excellent client services and maintain excellent employee relations. This will be achieved through reoccurring tasks, one-time tasks, and project-based work that support the work of the Financial Specialist and the Director of Finance. It is expected that the Payroll/Accounting Specialist can complete all tasks accurately, timely, and confidentially, as well as show initiative and a process improvement mindset.
EXPECTATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Accounts Payable
- Prepare payment requisitions for Finance & Accounting Department
- Prepare requisitions for check runs
- Research vendor inquiries
- Maintain vendor files
Accounts Receivable
- Post customer cash, check, and credit card payments
- Sort, Record, and Post departmental cash receipts
Payroll
- Process and enter all new hire information into Paychex System.
- Full cycle Payroll processing to include entering, payroll, information, finalizing payroll.
- Processing all bonuses that are due for staff at the appropriate pay cycle.
- Funding of 401(K) account
- PTO balance audit and reconciliation
- Send out W2s to staff annually once available.
Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates Degree. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- One year of A/P Experience preferred.
- Experience with Central Reach preferred.
- Experience with Paychex preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Self-motivated individual with analytical skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A critical thinker, highly organized and detail-oriented
- Team player who manages own workload but can be flexible according to the needs of the team.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sensitivity
