Light Truck Driver

SpecPro Professional Services, LLC is hiring for a Light Truck Driver   Summary: The Light Truck Driver/Hazardous Waste Handler will assist in the operation of the 90-Day hazardous waste Central Accumulation Point (CAP) for all hazardous waste, non-industrial and special waste, used oil, and off-spec fuel at Ft. Irwin, CA   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)   Responsible for the non-bulk hazardous waste(drums) pick up from the initial accumulation points (IAP) around post to the CAP Assist in the operation of the 90-day hazardous waste CAP Assist in the consolidation of compatible wastes in accordance with Hazardous Waste disposal requirements. Drive gas/diesel stake bed trucks with hydraulic liftgate and forklifts to transport waste around P2 Yard and to pick up waste from various sites around Fort Irwin Segregate all non-compatible materials collected; assist in preparation of all containers in compliance with appropriate Federal, State, Local and Army regulations prior to shipment; management of new and used containers. Weekly facility inspections of the hazardous wastes, including maintaining logs of all inspections, which will be made available for review; Weekly inspections of all containers, including ensuring that labels on containers are compliant with applicable regulations and policies; Conducting tests of equipment such as communications, alarms, fire protection, spill control, and decontamination on a monthly basis including maintaining appropriate logs; Support waste characterization requirements in accordance with all applicable regulations and guidance. Clean empty containers with hot water pressure washer Assist in the cleaning of wash racks around Fort Irwin Will perform the following industrial recycling activities as required, such as, but not limited to: household hazardous material collection, aerosol can puncturing, oil filter crushing, and antifreeze recycling. Participate in spill response clean up and preparation.   Non-Essential Duties: Other duties as assigned   Supervisory Responsibilities:   NONE   Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.) High School Diploma A valid driver's license is required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to follow established procedures and carry out assignments independently.
