Responsible for shaping and driving strategies for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s (BCBSM) Health Plan Business (HPB) division.
- Work closely with market-facing segments and functional areas as a strategic adviser and partner on near-term and long-term divisional priorities and strategies (e.g., segment and functional area-specific efforts, cross-divisional initiatives, and division led enterprise-wide efforts).
- Evaluate policies, procedures and business unit goals to make decisions and solve problems. Manage the evaluation of new and existing business processes to identify areas of opportunity and execute on business unit objectives, supporting continuous improvement.
- Leverage business frameworks to structure nebulous concepts, synthesizing external perspectives, identifying key opportunities, performing quantitative/qualitative analysis, and framing strategic options and recommendations.
- Collaborate with the Director and Senior Director of HPB Strategy in leading and supporting the division’s strategic planning process and its key strategic forums/discussions, gaining exposure to the most important priorities of the business.
- Manage activities of a department including, but not limited to planning, problem solving, staff development and communication.
- Operate within broad objectives to ensure optimum utilization of resources; adapt business unit plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
- Perform other related duties as required.
"Qualifications"
- Bachelor's Degree in related field required.
- Five (5) years of experience in Corporate Strategy or related field is required.
- Previous experience leading projects and/or teams is required.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Innovative and forward thinking with ability to envision multiple future state scenarios.
- Ability to leverage business frameworks to structure nebulous concepts and opportunities.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with confidence and ability to interact effectively with senior leaders.
