What are the responsibilities and job description for the Printing Ink Color Formulating Lab Associate position at BCM Inks?
We are seeking an experienced Printing Ink Lab Associate to work with our team formulating waterbased flexographic inks for the packaging industry. This role requires extreme attention to detail and focus on formulating unique colors and products utilizing established raw materials. Prefer experience in the waterbased printing ink industry preferred.
- Work with Sales, Technical resources and Customers to understand project conditions, quality specifications, material restrictions, approved products for use, formulary design & ratio’s, lab equipment specifications and customer specific needs for each project.
- Apply color theory and color principals using various lab equipment, software and instruments to yield proficient color matching and proofing.
- Responsible for providing customer support for requested color matching and color proofs along with support of new business projects.
- Data entry and import of customer and internal color data into color software for color measurements and aid in supporting color match and digital quality specifications.
- Utilize various instruments to perform quality checks on outgoing ink shipments.
- Supports departmental Quality System requirements.
- Follow EH&S procedures and good manufacturing principles. Ensure good housekeeping and safety practices.
- Works in a professional manner with peers both in the lab and in the manufacturing process.
Qualifications
To perform your job as expected, you will be required to:
- High school diploma or general educational degree (GED)
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to pass a color blindness test.
- Competency of color software and measurement instruments and Microsoft Office.
- Have good attendance and punctuality
