- JOB SUMMARY
- Set up, operative, optimize, changeover/troubleshoot and maintain assigned department equipment. Responsible for meeting/exceeding production standards, maintaining product quality, minimizing/preventing equipment downtime and sustaining budgeted waste levels daily.
- NOTE: This job is contingent on clearing an FBI background check. You will be required to provide fingerprints to be sent to the FBI. The corporate security officer will determine if the background information will be acceptable for this position.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Essential functions include but are not limited to:
- Works with management to identify and eliminate safety hazards.
- Has detailed operational knowledge of the equipment to the point that the Associate can operate within specified quality/quantity limits
- Set up and debug equipment to the specifications listed in plant policies, in specifications and department procedures. Deviations from these specifications must be cleared with the Team Leader or Engineering.
- Maintain equipment in working order to produce product within specified quality and quantity limits; adjusting, troubleshooting, cleaning and repairing as necessary.
- Responsible for maintaining equipment logs for each piece of equipment, recording pertinent information about downtime and maintenance problems. Clear and legible handwriting required.
- Repair equipment within Associate’s capability and reports major problems to Engineering Tech or designee. Assist Setup, Engineering Technician or Robotics Programmer in major repairs.
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment as specified in the plant preventative maintenance (PM) program or as needed for smooth operation.
- Possesses mechanical ability and knowledge of proper use of tools, proper troubleshooting and set up procedures, and machine blueprint reading.
- ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs duties as assigned by Team Leader and required to support the needs of the business.
- Attend training and meetings as required.
- General housekeeping and cleanup of work area / safety awareness.

- JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education
- High school diploma/GED (if hired after 6/1/00) Internal transfers exempted (minimum requirement)
- Vocational/Technical School (Mechanical/Hydraulics/Electrical) ~ Preferred
- Other: Concepts of Electronics (Preferred)
- Experience and Knowledge
- Indicate the minimum level of experience required:
- Minimum of 1 year any type of mechanical experience related to pneumatics/ hydraulics/electronics
- Fully describe the type of knowledge, skills or abilities desired: (e.g. tools, equipment, hardware or software).
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems.
- Working knowledge of CAM motions, gear reduction, gear drive transmissions, prime movers and pneumatic, hydraulic components such as valves, solenoids, cylinders and control devices.
- Working knowledge of pneumatic and fluidic controls.
- Basic electrical and electronic knowledge sufficient to troubleshoot problems and assist electronic technician in repairs.
- Certifications
- Certification or licensure required or preferred:
- Licensure (Internal>radiation operation – Must be able to obtain in 12 months)
- Licensure (Forklift – Must be able to obtain within 3 mths.)

- A. Upon placement into position, associate can expect to receive the following amount of training provided by a qualified trainer: 6 months

- WORKING CONDITIONS
- High speed manufacturing environment. Must remain alert and focused.
- No air-conditioning in parts of sterilization/warehouse area.
- Radiation in close proximity (in vault)
