Job Summary:
Executes the Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) strategy to deliver on overall site Key Performance Indicators (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & People) for the site. Coordinates the plant operational activities to ensure the safety of associates, high product quality standards and production schedules are met. Ensures compliance with the BD quality systems, policies, procedures, and practices and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations. Ensure associate engagement, inclusion, and culture. Drives a culture of associate engagement, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Manage sites up to $90M COGS; <500 HC.
Essential Responsibilities:
Maintains close supervision of all levels at the plant operation through management reports, staff meetings and tier management to ensure timely production, schedules and equipment.
Responsible for establishing a sustainable Supply Chain for new and existing products manufactured.
Responsible for inventory objectives (including transfer inventory) and accomplishment of service level goals.
Understand BU/platforms strategies.
Create an environment that provides direction and promotes continuous learning and development.
Develops successors and talent pools for key positions.
Drives and models a culture of continuous improvement and high quality.
Provides leadership alignment and direction for the plant at multiple levels, including strategic, operating and tactical.
Maintains high performance standards for the execution of planned operations and initiatives.
Owns and executes the Good Job Strategy for the site. Ensures regulatory compliance.
Provides effective leadership in teamwork development, effective communication, and quick responses to internal & external stakeholders.
Education and/or Experience:
BS/BA degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or related subject required, MBA desired.
Minimum of 5 years of experience delivering results for a small-sized plant, on an operation, supply chain or quality roles. (i.e., /-100 associates).
At least 6 years of management experience, at various levels.
Experience in medical devices/MedTech is preferred.
Must have proven track record managing a business or sub-unit of a very large business.
Hands-on experience in Supply Planning, SIOP-IBP, ERP, MRP and advanced analytics.
Strong working knowledge in Operational Excellence and solid experience in implementation.
Additional Qualifications Skills and Knowledge:
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Ability to interface effectively with all levels and functions of the BD organization.
A strong record of selecting and developing very competent professional staff, who is energetic and forward-thinking, delivering positive bottom-line results, strong continuous improvement.
Knowledge in advance manufacturing (digitalization, smart factory, etc.)
Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in managing P&L, budgeting, forecasting & capital planning.
Good understanding of GMP, ISO, OSHA & EPA requirements.
Excellent problem solving & decision-making skills.
Excellent knowledge of lean manufacturing.
Knowledge/application of Six Sigma & continuous improvement.
Experience in a highly automated or digitally advanced site.
Physical Demands:
Work with standard office equipment, computers, and phones
Frequent walking around the site required.
Work Environment:
Manufacturing/Production setting
Travel required up to 20%
