This position ensures that all finished goods and components received into the Incoming Quality Control department are handled in accordance with internal procedures and inspected in accordance with product specifications to ensure that the products meet visual, physical, and/ or dimensional requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Inspects incoming product (components, finished goods) in accordance with internal procedures and Product Specifications. Inspections are indicated as Accept (meets requirements) or Non-Conforming (does not meet inspection requirements).
Accurately prepares inspection paperwork and result documentation. Neat and legible handwriting required.
Keeps accurate / orderly records of inspections. Prepares Non-Conformances (where appropriate).
Properly samples product in accordance with procedures/ specifications.
Properly identifies and segregates product as to its status (Pending, Non-Conforming, Accept)
Assist with sort and reprocessing activities.
Performs inventory transactions.
Assist in the review of red-lined EIPS / IPs.
Proper use of inspection equipment and the verification that equipment has a current calibration status.
Other responsibilities as required.
Overtime as necessary.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Minimum of 2 years quality experience, preferred.
Must be able to lift up to 35 # and use a pallet jack.
Proficient in the use of a personal computer with basic level of keyboarding skills.
Ability to use measurement equipment (e.g. Pin Gauge, Calipers, Micrometers, Tensile testing equipment).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Self‑starter, able to work independently with little direct supervision.
Responsible decision maker ‑ ability to reason and make sound decisions.
Must be detail oriented with adherence to Good Documentation Practices.
Education and / or Experience
High School Education or equivalent (entry level position).
Language Skills
Ability to read and communicate well with individuals at all levels of the organizations. Must read and interpret sampling plans.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform basic math problems. Basic aptitude test required.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms and lifts and/or moves up to 35 pounds. Employee is required to meet with other personnel in other areas of building. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Work Environment
Employee primarily works in an office setting, but is occasionally required to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to fluctuations in temperature and humidity. The noise level in the work environment is quiet to moderate.
