Job Definition:
As the Branch Manager, you will be responsible to build an effective and efficient branch operation within a designated market. This includes providing leadership over sales, operations, and the resulting financial performance of this local business.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver Return on Total Capital meeting or exceeding BDI’s Standard.
- Maximize and grow BDI’s Market Share in the assigned geography.
- Define and execute the branch’s sales Plan.
- Define salespeople’s call activities, make joint sales calls, and coach salespeople to meet or exceed BDI’s Standard.
- Responsible for the leadership, and development of all employees of the local branch team through effective recruiting, hiring, training and coaching.
- Establish, and lead an effective pricing strategy for the branch.
- Responsible for developing, and maintaining good relationships with BDI suppliers to increase market share and supplier pricing.
- Manage Employee Productivity to BDI’s Standard.
- Oversee management of Branch Operations, including maintaining a clean order book.
- Oversee management of Branch Assets, including branch inventory and inventory accuracy, accounts receivable.
- On occasion, will develop, design or apply products to meet customer requirements or solve customer problems.
- Responsible for other duties as they are assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Business Administration or College Equivalent is highly preferred.
- Five to seven years in sales or marketing environment required with additional experience in management or acting in a lead capacity preferred.
- Experience in inside or outside sales within the Industrial Supply Industry is a plus.
- Must possess a high degree of mechanical aptitude and the ability to multi-task. Strong product knowledge of bearings and power transmission products a must.
