What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician position at BEA Transit Technologies?
To provide maintenance and reliable support to on-site equipment; Ticketing Vending Machine (TVM) equipment of Sun Metro Transit.
Responsibilities:
- Reactive service to include equipment trouble shooting and diagnosis, part replacement as needed, problem resolution.
- Preventive maintenance
- Candidates with experience in service and installation is preferred but not required.
- Manage and maintain all assigned company equipment, inventory, and tools.
- Knowledge of basic electricity; amperage, voltage and current.
- Knowledge preferred but not required we will train Know and apply basic computer knowledge.
- Periodically check the operation and maintenance processes as for the equipment taking appropriate preventive and corrective actions.
- Activities can include but not limited to schedule servicing, and basic repairs.
- Assist Sun Metro Transit personnel for equipment maintenance and operations (On-Demand)
- Provide feedback on common mode failures and communicate appropriate actions.
- Create Work Orders and Work Orders reports.
- Provide onsite technical support (IT/Network) (Optional)
Qualifications:
- The applicant MUST have a DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) certification
- Candidates with experience in service and installation is preferred but not required.
- Spanish speaking is a plus
- Able to work independently
- Willing to work in inclement weather when properly requested and when feasible
- Possess unquestioned reputation for integrity, ethics, personal values, and solid character

The job will assure 10 hours per week. The hour rate and commute will depend on experience and skills show in the interview and resume. First step will be a virtual interview (videoconference thru cell phone or PC), then face to face interview in a local place (El Paso – to be define later).
