Beacon Christian Church in Conrad, Iowa, is seeking an enthusiastic pastor who will provide leadership and vision to help us develop and grow our new church.

About Beacon Christian Church

Beacon Christian Church of Conrad is a multigenerational congregation of 150 members with an average attendance of 30 to 40 people. We are a caring, loving, mission oriented, biblically based church who has recently disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church. We are seeking pastoral guidance to help us grow our discipleship locally and in our church community.

About the Community

We are located in Conrad, Iowa, a vibrant and growing community of approximately 1200 residents. We are centrally located 15 minutes from Marshalltown, 70 minutes from Des Moines, and 45 minutes from Cedar Falls/Waterloo. The community is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, town celebrations, excellent schools, businesses including childcare center, parks and recreational activities including the golf course, aquatic center, and biking trail. The Ideal Candidate

The applicants must have a strong Methodist/Wesleyan background and be able to communicate those beliefs. A core requirement is knowledge of scripture and belief that the Bible is the word of God. (1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9)

Key Responsibilities

● Preaching a meaningful, relevant, biblically based weekly Sunday worship service
● Alternating worship services at area nursing home with other local pastors
● Serving regular communion
● Performing baptisms, weddings, and funerals
● Counseling including marriage and grief
● Visiting church members
● Supporting missions, youth and fellowship activities
● Collaborating with church committees, leadership, and staff
● Providing leadership to grow our faith and relationships in our church and community
● Leading confirmation class

Compensation

Salary commensurate with experience. Benefits such as insurance and retirement will be negotiable. There is opportunity for this position to be considered on a full time or part time basis for the right candidate. A 3 bedroom and 1 and ½ bath parsonage with a 2 stall garage is provided.
