Role
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Beacon Credit Union to live out our mission, "Dedicated to Our Member's Financial Success", by delivering outstanding service to both internal and external members. A key component of this service delivery is to identify the financial needs of each member and recommend an appropriate credit union solution.
In addition, are accountable for all cash on premises. Assisting with the training of tellers and coordination of their duties. Maintains prescribed records and summaries of transactions. Process transactions and be an effective information source for our members: in the lobby, drive thru window or by telephone, to accurately and efficiently assist with their requirements while assuring a positive experience for each member/customer and minimizing wait time. Be knowledgeable of all Beacon CU's products and services. Ensure Beacon's mission statement and service standards are met with every member every time. Meet and exceed the monthly sales and service goals. Understand the Mike Neill sales approach.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for meeting and exceeding all sales/referral expectations and service goals set by management. Is knowledgeable and understands all of Beacon CU's products and services. Offers/suggests product and services to our membership through internal and external communication. Apply the Mike Neill and Beacon principles such as our mission statement and service standards to every member every time. Administer and maintain all safe deposit boxes. Coaches tellers to insure understanding of the Mike Neill and Beacon principles. Be a team motivator.
Responsible for overseeing the operation of the On-site ATM, including daily balancing and cash replenishment. (Replenish and reconcile all cash boxes/canisters designated for Nationwide Money ATM’s-if applicable to your branch).
Orders the appropriate amounts and types of cash for the credit union and supplies tellers with daily cash, and other necessary supplies. Maintains proper documentation of all currency received and disbursed. Responsible for all vault activities-including outside ATM's and canisters.
Assists and coaches the tellers, coordinating their workflow and schedules and assist on teller line. Ensures that all tellers handle themselves in a businesslike/professional manner in handling member needs. Making sure each cash transaction is counted three times. Constantly reviews performance of teller activities as to the use of their cross-selling techniques in accordance with the Mike Neill program and insuring Beacon CU's mission statement and service standards are met with every member every time. Discusses and coaches needed changes with each teller.
Prepared report of all shortages and overages daily and periodically submits to Branch Manager for review and maintains documentation of these outages and probation schedules of each employee, as set forth in policies.
Follows all applicable regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act, and Anti-money Laundering.
Delivers and exceeds outstanding service to internal and external members aligned with Beacon CU's service standards.
Knowledge and Skills
ExperienceTwo years Teller experience required. Two years supervisory experience preferred. Sales Experience.
Education/Certifications/LicensesHigh School diploma or GED. Prefer two years of college or preparatory education. Valid Driver's License
Interpersonal SkillsA significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with member/customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
