Job Description
Our client is looking for a Storage Administrator for a 6 month contract role. 1-2 days/week on site required in Philadelphia.
Job Responsibilities:
- Storage Infrastructure Management:
- Administer and maintain storage systems, including NetApp and Hitachi, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Data Backup and Recovery:
- Implement and manage data backup and recovery solutions to protect critical data and ensure business continuity.
- Storage Capacity Planning:
- Monitor storage usage and plan for future storage needs, including the acquisition and deployment of additional storage resources as necessary.
- Storage Performance Optimization:
- Fine-tune storage systems to optimize performance and ensure efficient data access.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Identify and resolve storage-related issues and outages promptly to minimize downtime.
- Storage Virtualization:
- Implement and manage storage virtualization technologies to improve resource utilization and flexibility.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of storage configurations, policies, and procedures. Generate reports on storage system performance and capacity.
- Disaster Recovery Planning:
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and conduct regular testing to ensure data can be recovered in case of a disaster.
Requirements:
- Technical Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of storage systems, including NetApp and Hitachi, and associated technologies (SAN, NAS, RAID, etc.).
- Storage Management Tools:
- Proficiency with storage management and monitoring tools, like OnCommand, Data ONTAP, or Hitachi Command Suite.
- Operating Systems:
- Familiarity with various operating systems, particularly Windows, Linux, and Unix.
- Troubleshooting Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills to resolve storage-related issues.
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications, such as NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) or Hitachi Vantara Certified Professional, can be beneficial but are not required.
