GeneralSummary:
Under moderate direction responds to all emergency codes and threat calls. Relays all incoming, outgoing, interoffice telephone calls using computer telephony. Pages hospital staff via an intercommunications system. Assists staff members with paging equipment. Serves as a general information person for visitors and public. Assists staff with long distance calls and requests for interpreter services.
Essential Duties:
Upon direction, activate procedures during emergency situations.
Upon direction, make appropriate notification of emergency situations
Call processing (answer, transfer, forward, conference, etc.)
Overhead paging
Beeper paging
Staff Training
Maintain job code/on call schedules
Facilitate interpreter service calls
Facilitate long distance calls when necessary
Provide patient information to callers within HIPAA regulations
Assist staff when new patient telephone equipment as required
Assist staff with emergency telephone equipment as needed
