GENERAL SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for entire supply chain flow for designated areas within procedural unit(s) of the hospital, including the OR, Cathlab, Vascular Lab, EP Lab, and /or IR. Collaborate with physicians, suppliers, nursing, contracting and the entire Beaumont Health System supply chain to ensure all supply related elements are proactively managed for procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Advance review of planned procedures and any case notes / special needs, and collaboration with all parties involved to ensure both any supplies not stocked in the procedural unit are appropriately sourced and coordinate any supplier representative support required for the procedure.
- Total oversight for entire supply categories in the procedural unit, for example: proactive communication and issue resolution on such things as supply shortages, backorders, and / or any other supply disruption that could negatively impact a procedure; responsibility for consignment inventory management; product evaluations and the associated clinical collaboration for review / product transition; leverage of supplier reps for support; supply safety / compliance; clinical team service level satisfaction; …

- Demonstrates self-motivation and positive attitude. Guidance with inventory clerks and coordinators assigned to designated areas. Collaborate with clinical team for appropriate balance of inventory.
- Supply ordering of all products for defined areas. Inventory management of specials (non-standard items) requiring product search and communication with vendor/rep. Work back orders- coordinate subs and/or transfer from other area/hospital.
- Maintain par levels, by balancing inventories through inventory turns/cost of inventory, P.O. tracking, backorder management, sourcing and communication /collaboration with clinical partners. Analyze inventory/usage levels and communicate with clinical teams of all par changes/suggestions. Complete supply ordering and manage/monitor Implant/Tissue management.
- Receiving issue resolution, exception management, and product returns oversight, product returns management. Participate in physical inventory.
- Achieve quality and safety expectations including auditing inventory locations for regulatory compliance such as cleanliness, organization, expired supplies, ceiling heights and supplies putaway in the correct locations.
- Regulatory- Ensure staff compliance with department, hospital, state and federal regulations.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, health management or related field preferred.
- Three years in hospital procedural area supply chain, or one year experience along with one of the higher-level degrees referenced above.
- AHRMM CMRP, APICS CPIM or Lean process improvement certification preferred Basic computer, math and problem-solving skills and aptitude.
