POSITION OVERVIEW

The Production Supervisor will oversee production. This role involves coordinating activities with warehouse, mixing, and both production shifts through designated supervisors and leads. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Manager
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- It is required that this position actively supports Beaverton Foods and all employees and customers in a positive manner.
- Fully trained in all aspects of the jobs within the department to help ensure proper safety, quality, and performance.
- Line Operator, Packer, Unloader, Spice Filler.
- Capable of assisting in covering bathroom breaks, unexcused absences, or unexpected vacancies of all positions they oversee.
- Responsible for training new employees, developing most to gain employees, and help promote veteran employees.
- Establishes and adjusts employees' schedules to meet production demands throughout the workday.
- Responsible for entire production area startup and setup.
- Distributes supplies such as gloves, uniforms, towels, box knives, hairnets, hearing protection to workers before start of shift and as needed.
- Responsible for all equipment in the production area and oversees that the equipment is properly maintained through the shift.
- Checks the progress of production throughout shift to determine status of schedule and anticipate problems.
- Coordinates production line set up with mixing supervisor and warehouse manager.
- Verifies accuracy of materials supplied to the lines, such as jars, caps, labels, and Julian stamps. Verifies accuracy of codes from ink jet coders.
- Performs the duties of production line mechanic as necessary to maintain machinery to meet daily production output.
- Responsible for ensuring end of day tasks are completed by the production department.
- Communicating with opposite shift leads for a smooth transition into the next shift.
- Meet daily to discuss change logs of the previous shift.
- Cleans and disinfects utensils, equipment, and general work areas.
- Disassembles and assembles production machinery and plumbing, including pumps, in order to carry out sanitation procedures.
- Holds department accountable and responsible for processes and procedures and behavior, by issuing discipline, constructive/ appreciative feedback when needed.
- Schedules and approves vacation requests according to company policy.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems. Using HR as a resource when needed.
- Interprets company policies to employees and enforces policies, safety regulations, and quality control guidelines.
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepares Julian stamps and other stamps with appropriate date and/or code information for each product and distributes to each production line.
· Collects and distributes label stock to bottling lines before each shift and returns unused stock. Prints generic labels as needed for bottling production.
· Follows Inventory Lot Control procedures for finished goods.
· Initiates or suggests plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals.
· Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
· Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
· Schedules and approves vacation requests according to company policy, as well as keeping in compliance with production needs.

· Up to three years related experience and/or training in warehouse management
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
· Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations within a food facility.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
· Experience in reporting on key production metrics.
· Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software.
· Exceptional communication skills.

This position is responsible to support all HACCP, Food Safety, Food Fraud, Food Defense programs and regulations by completing all Lot Tracking, Critical Control Point and Sanitation requirements.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Beaverton Foods’ documents and policies are written in English.
