Position Summary
Performs expediting activities at a jobsite to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment to meet project needs.
Responsibilities
- Reports to and receives operational direction from the Field Purchasing Supervisor.
- Performs tasks involved in the administration of purchase orders.
- Contacts suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data and to follow-up on material acquisition, production progress and shipment.
- Updates Bechtel Procurement System (DSCS) in a timely manner.
- Provides early warning to the Field Purchasing Supervisor of issues impacting suppliers ability to meet the purchase order promise delivery date(s)
- Coordinates shipping arrangements or tracking requests with the project traffic representative
- Monitors material receipts and assists in the reconciliation of unsatisfactory, over, short or damaged material
- Responsible for working with Accounts Payable personnel to resolve invoicing discrepancies
- Compiles data needed to prepare the critical items report or other supplementary reports as required.
- Accountable for integrity of records management for assigned work.
- Attends project status meetings, when requested, and reports status of area of responsibility.
- Maintains working relationships with project Procurement personnel and project discipline personnel in order to perform assigned duties.
- Contributes to the establishment of project-level goals.
Qualifications and Skills
Basic Qualifications
- Skilled in working with and communicating effectively both orally and in writing with other project functional groups, primarily Engineering, Construction, Project Management and other services.
- Preferred - Minimum 2-4 years’ experience expediting experience
- Preferred - Knowledge of Digital Supply Chain System (DSCS) / Oracle EBS
