Project Overview

Bechtel National, Inc. (BNI), Bechtel’s government services business, is one of the top providers to departments and agencies of the U.S. and British governments. Its successes include many large, first-of-a-kind projects in government site management, environmental restoration, defense, space, energy, and national and homeland security. This position will provide support to the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) located at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.UPF is a multi-year, multi-billion dollar project and will be a first-of-its-kind complex for enriched uranium operations in support of Y-12 missions. UPF is one of the Department of Energy’s largest investments in Tennessee since the Manhattan Project and one of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s largest construction projects. When complete, UPF will: replace a 70-year-old facility with modern buildings, reduce operational costs and energy consumption, improve worker safety, and provided enriched uranium capabilities well into the future.The UPF project works on a 9-80 schedule with every other Friday off. Start times are flexible but the standard work week is: Monday - Thursday from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm. The schedule on working Fridays is: 7:00am-3:30 pm.

Eligibility for this position requires US citizenship; successful candidate must provide proof of US citizenship in order to obtain badge access to the site. Candidate must complete security questionnaire and successfully clear site access requirements check. All employees are subject and agree to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. Must be able to obtain a security clearance, as applicable.

Position Summary

Coordinates training and indoctrination programs related to project functional processes, safety related training and other subjects for all levels of project personnel.Reports to and receives technical and operational supervision from training manager.Maintains relationships with department managers and supervisors.Contacts include CNS and UPF project training points of contacts.Assists line management in the development and documentation of requirements for project positions to ensure that personnel are competent to perform assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

• Performing data entry to maintain and track personnel training status
• Initiating training profile changes for both individual and position assignments as required for new personnel or changes for existing personnel.
• Assign UPF specific training requirements to project personnel.
• Interface with departmental contacts to implement required reading on command media modifications.
• Assist the training manager in monitoring the effectiveness of project training programs.
• Interface with project management and subject matter experts to identify training needs and recommend solutions.
• Generate and communicate status of training reports to project personnel in order to avoid training delinquencies on required training utilizing both the Y-12 and Bechtel Learning Management Systems.
• Utilize training database to ensure training records are maintained in accordance with applicable procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or a high school diploma. In lieu of a degree at least 6 years of related experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including verification of employment.
• Must be able to obtain a site security badge.

Additional Qualifications

• Working knowledge of generic learning management systems principles.
• Knowledge of training records management principles.
• Understanding of the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) processes.
• Working knowledge of Y-12 SAP training system.
• Working knowledge of the Bechtel LMS.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
