Job Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective:
The Licensed
Vocational Nurse (LVN) employs intellectual, interpersonal and technical skills
to perform basic patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
The LVN assists with routine, direct bedside care of patients of various ages.
Such duties include, but are not limited to: personal hygiene, vital signs, I&O,
use of equipment, ADLs, re-enforcement of teaching, documenting in the medical
record, recognizing and responding to emergency situations and administering
medication within the LVN scope of practice. The LVN reports to the Registered
Nurse.

nursing competencies as noted on the CNA and LVN job descriptions, including
maintaining BCLS, ACLS and PALS.

programs, Nursing Skills Day attendance.
