Job Summary
To contribute to the efficient operation of the school’s office so that the office has a positive impact on students’ education and maintains an effective role in the educational process.
Essential Duties
Performs the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy yet productive and smoothly run office.
Performs such secretarial and clerical duties as may be assigned by the Principal in a professional manner.
Types a variety of materials, such as letters, reports, memos, etc., from rough drafts.
Files correspondence and other materials competently for quick accessibility.
Obtains, gathers, and organizes pertinent data as needed, and puts into usable form.
Keeps confidential all office information and transactions that should be handled in a professional manner.
Receives visitors, telephone calls, and records messages in a courteous, polite, and helpful manner.
Orders and maintains office supplies as needed.
Maintains a schedule of appointments and make arrangements for conferences and interviews.
Reproduces, collates, and binds materials as necessary; makes appropriate distribution of such materials as designated.
Maintains a business-like and professional atmosphere in the office.
Performs such other secretarial and clerical duties as may be assigned by the Principal.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required)
Must be a high school, business, or commercial school graduate and two years of secretarial experience is required. Ability to perform general office duties and operate standard office machines and/or equipment necessary for duties assigned. Ability to demonstrate satisfactory performance in typing, filing, record keeping, and office procedure. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
