Job Posting for Networking Operations Group Manager at Bedford Industries
This position will lead and direct a team responsible for plant-wide network performance, upgrades and changes, desktop support, and incident records. This individual will develop and implement standards, procedures, and processes, as well as define projects and set daily tasks for the network operations team. Another key aspect of this position is ensuring Bedford is supported in all areas of technology.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to make certain network capacity meets existing and future requirements.
Lead the team responsible for the day-to-day network and hardware support, including task direction and coaching.
Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration and appropriate use.
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory, life cycle management and related documentation.
Work with appropriate teams to ensure the security of Bedford’s network and resources
Conduct research and make recommendations on network products, services, protocols, and standards in support of network procurement and development efforts.
Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for IT projects and associated efforts, and manage associated vendor relationships.
Stay abreast of latest technology enabling inter-company communication, conference room technology, communications platforms, and hardware (including desktops, laptops, and phones)

Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in the field of computer science (or related fields) is preferred
5 years of relevant work experience
Excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards, including Active Directory, Group Policies, MS Exchange, Core Switching/Routing, SSL/IPSec, SAN, Virtualization, Business Continuity
Experience with Cloud platforms including Azure, Microsoft 365, Box and others
Knowledge and/or experience with VMWare, Rapid Recovery, and Nimble a plus
Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards, etc.
Knowledge and understanding of system flow charts, data processing concepts, and telecommunications principles
Working experience with different Operating Systems including Windows and Linux
Ability to communicate professionally with users and vendors verbally and in written form
Experience building and leading effective teams
Works in an office and production envrionment
