Infection Control Nurse Key Duties

Plan, organize, develop, and direct all in-service educational programs throughout the facility in accordance with the federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.

• Provide nursing staff with clinical and educational support and guidance.
• Focus on Quality Improvement and identify areas of educational needs.
• Monitor staff completion or required education and track compliance rates.
• Maintain surveillance and tracking of infections and exposures in the facility.
• Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain the IPCP to ensure the quality of patient care as it is related to the investigation, control and prevention of infections and communicable diseases within the nursing center.
• Perform other job-related duties as they become required.
  
  
  

Infection Control Nurse Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Valid LPN or RN license in the state of Florida.
• CPR certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in long-term care or a related setting.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
