POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting Associate will provide administrative support for the accounting department. The daily activities may include posting daily cash payments, collections, assisting visitors, and working on special projects.


CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Perform daily cash postings, daily bank reconciliations, and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Verify that cash receipts are posted correctly.
  • Responsible for collections and monthly statements.
  • Assist with month end close, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and account analysis.
  • Record purchase orders and collections in MasterTools.
  • Review and reconcile bank transactions.
  • Reconcile inventory in MasterTools.
  • Manage accounts receivable and post payments in a timely manner.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; adjust entries for amortizations prepaids; analyze and reconcile accounts payable ledgers; prepare fixed asset depreciation and accruals.
  • Prepare financial reports.
  • Assist in maintenance of the general ledger.
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and other duties, as required.


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred.
  • 1 years of accounting experience is required.

  • None.


Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

  • Intermediate or higher-level data entry skills.
  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of ERP software and internet software.


Travel

  • Travel is not required.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position is an Individual Contributor: working team member with no oversight of others and no management responsibilities.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is subject to sedentary work; Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.

  • This position is subject to the following physical activities: walking, hearing, talking, hearing, and the use of hands, fingers, or wrists in repetitive motions.


Visual Acuity

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.


Working Conditions

  • The worker is subject to a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Required
