The Warehouse/Shop Associate oversees shop, warehouse, field installation, and ground maintenance tasks. Responsibilities include project staging, asset tracking, inventory control, shipping/receiving, equipment/tool usage, safety compliance, field assistance, order picking, record keeping, and stocking. The role involves hands-on work with power tools, equipment, and vehicles, both indoors and outdoors. Emphasis is placed on safe operation, accuracy, meeting production goals, and supporting departmental objectives. This position reports to the Plant Operations Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Practice safe shop and warehouse procedures, communicate potential hazards, and safeguard against incidents
- Help implement process improvements meant to increase efficiency and minimize rework
- Collaborate with department leads and warehouse partners
- Count, stock, maintain, and organize warehouse, vehicles and equipment
- Execute receiving, shipping and general warehouse duties
- Build, prep and stage job packages for on-time deliveries
- Receive and unload freight and track damage claims
- Safely and accurately move products to inventory stock locations using material handling equipment
- Follow all DOT Regulations
- Provide superior service to all internal and external customers
- Organize warehouse and keep clean and free of clutter and safety hazards
- Participate in inventories per set schedule
- Be able to work on job sites 40% of the time or as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- 2 years of shop/warehouse experience
- Ability to accurately use a tape measure and add/subtract basic fractions
- Proficient in using technology such as iPads, Computers, and Office 365
- Must be highly organized and able to mult-task
- Proficient in using basic power tools and warehouse equipment
- General understanding of basic warehouse management concepts
- Team player with the willingness to be coached with excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Attention to detail and ability to work quickly while maintaining a high priority on safety
- Being proactive in finding things needing to get done, prioritizing needs, and then implementing an action plan to make it happen
- Ability to safely lift 50lbs
- Ability to speak and understand English
- Valid Driver License
Preferred: Prior construction experience and Forklift/Boomlift experience a plus!
