We are seeking qualified candidates for the IT Administrator opportunity to join our Williamston, Michigan team! This position: Installs, modifies and upgrades, hardware and software systems, and provides technical support and training to system users by performing the following duties:
Maintains functional networks (LAN, VLAN, WAN, WLAN).
Configures and installs software, servers, routers, and other network devices including:
- Installs or assists personnel in installation of hardware including terminals, phone systems and wiring and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers, firewalls and cell phones.
- Loading specified software packages such as operating systems, Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), other programs related to certain job functions and the computer, and documents system configurations for reference library.
Installing cabling necessary to connect computers to the internal local area network.
Installing all software onto company owned computers.
Monitor network performance and integrity.
Performs as Support Technician for elevated Help Desk Tickets.
Create, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery/business continuity).
Maintain complete technical documentation.
Suggest Improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability.
Performs diagnosis on systems hardware, software, and operator problems. Recommends or performs actions to correct problems based on knowledge of systems operation.
Maintains company phone system, including both hardware (phone sets, handsets, cabling, etc.) and software.
Maintains system security (i.e. Internet, Intranet, PC’s, Mid-range), including user ID’s and passwords, directory access, and active directory information.
Maintains employee door card access program which allows employees entrance to building at Williamston location.
Enters commands and observes system functions to verify correct system operation.
Instructs user in use of equipment, software, and manuals.
Maintains computer back-up systems, anti-virus programs, firewall, and performs mid-range and server backups.
Provides reports to Management indicating resolved, upgraded and unresolved projects.
Reviews computer resources to keep abreast of new software and hardware product developments.
Assists in determining and resolving terminal, security, and hardware problems.
Updates and maintains licensed software, performs software audits, and assists with the requisition of supplies as needed.
Supports Computer Aided Design systems (CAD).
Performs any other IT related duties as required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of an Associate’s degree and 4-yrs experience and/or training in an IT Administrator’s position.
Either holds or in process of obtaining at least one certification from recognized credentialing authority – CCNA, MSCNA, CompTIA, etc.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Advanced knowledge of personal computers. Software proficiencies should include Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Adobe, and some ERP system knowledge. Advanced mechanical aptitude such as using tools, wiring, and basic electricity. Excellent customer service skills with strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Ability to manage priorities and workflow. Responsible for performing all work efficiently and in compliance with quality, quantity, and safety standards as established by the Company.
