What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Technical Service Technician I position at Belcan?
Job Title: Sales Technical Service Technician I
Pay Rate: $25/hr
Location: Sheffield Lake, 44054
Shift: Schedule: 6am-4:30pm. Some flexibility. Sometimes on 8 hrs. normally run 10 hour shift. M-F with occasional Saturdays 1-2/month OT.
40 hrs - either 4-5 days per week. 8 hrs 5 days/week.
Customer - Ford. Called Ohio assembly plant.
Automotive paint. Customers can request OEM paint, refinish paint, solvent orders/inventories, ecoat and phosphate, and sealer.
Walking floor, looking for issues, resolving defects from customers. Taking inventory of products and some testing, running data PAQs (in over - heat curve for vehicles). Appearance of color by measuring with BIC instruments.
PPE - safety glasses required. Paint shop suits - 1 piece. Safety shoes required. PPG would pay for PPE.
Requirements:
Education - plus if has college degree but not required.
Need to have xp using excel, word, accessing databases. Entering data. Nothing too crazy but comfortable with computers overall.
Communicating with customers. Most f2f, some email.
Interview - might have to do teams or f2f.
Level I: 0-3 years. Install, modify, upgrade, maintain, and repair more complex products or equipment that have been purchased by the organization's customers. Deliver technical service provision to potential customers. Position is as a PPG Service Rep, working at the Ford Ohio Assembly Plant. Candidate will have face to face contact with Ford personnel, so must have good communication skills.
Additionally, responsibilities will include running data PAQs and utilization of color and appearance instrumentation for taking readings, making improvements and downloading data.
A Bachelor's Degree is a plus for the position. Must have competent computer skills and knowledge of Excel & Word and ability to enter data into multiple databases.
This position is within a very large assembly plant, which requires a lot of walking, some climbing of stairs and platforms so must be in reasonable physical shape to peruse the building.
