Job Description:
Under the responsibility of the Supply Chain / Procurement Director, the strategic buyer is responsible for leading supply strategies and the management of purchasing categories while working closely with engineering, quality, supply chain and operations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the qualification and monitoring of suppliers including onsite supplier evaluations.
- Prepare, initiate, and implement RFQ"s.
- Anticipate and manage the risks associated with critical suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with contractual commitments.
- Define the orientations and the best purchasing strategies according to business objectives.
- New supplier selection.
- Negotiate and implement commercial and contractual agreements.
- Lead cost reduction projects.
- Maintain and manage business relationships with suppliers.
- Other duties as assigned by the Procurement / Supply Chain Director.
- Ability to travel as needed is required.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, or similar, preferred
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Experience in sourcing for the automotive manufacturing industry.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
- Knowledge of an integrated management system. (ERP)
- Ability to take on multiple responsibilities.
- High analytical capacity.
- Ability to negotiate.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
