GSRP Lead Teacher
Location: Orchard Hills
Salary Range/ Level: $34,046-$49,668 Based On Experience
Terms of Employment:
181 days/yr. 8 hours/day, may vary depending on conferences, home
visits, etc.

Qualifications:
· Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate and an Early Childhood Endorsement (ZA or ZS) or bachelor’s degree in child development or early child development with specialization in preschool teaching.
· Prior experience working with at-risk students or preschool-aged children preferred.
· Trained in Creative Curriculum and Conscious Discipline would be helpful.
· Knowledge of the Early Childhood Standards of Quality would be helpful.
· Demonstrates a strong commitment to inclusive practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Plan, implement and monitor curriculum.
-Participate in recruitment, application, and enrollment process.
-Engage parents in advisory capacity related to implementation of program.
-Develop a working relationship with administrators, support staff, teachers, volunteers and students.
-Engage with children in all areas of the program and parts of the day.
-Work collaboratively and communicate with teaching team partner regarding children’s behavior and progress.
-Maintain accurate and complete student records.
-Follow written IEP and support plans and ensure requirements of IEP are followed in relation.
-Responsible for daily operation of the program.
-Assist children with personal health care needs, including toileting.
-Participate in training and ongoing professional development.
-Ability to plan, prepare materials, and carry out activities that are fun, educational, and foster personal-social, physical, and academic skills.
-Ability to maintain a safe and secure learning environment.
-Ability to communicate effectively with young children and their families.
-Ability to work well with diverse families.
-Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.
-Self-directedness and initiative when given a variety of tasks and responsibilities.
-If applicable, the employee is responsible for maintaining all licenses, certificates, etc., and submitting to the Business Office prior to expiration date of said document.
-Regular and consistent attendance
-If hired, applicant will be required to complete a Comprehensive background check per
DHHS licensing
-Other duties as assigned.

TRAVEL:
The employee may be expected to travel to the Intermediate School District, professional development conferences/trainings, and to other events as necessary approved and assigned by Supervisor.
