What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Technician position at Bell Ambulance?
BELL Ambulance is a progressive, client-oriented company devoted to providing high-quality emergency and non-emergency medical services. BELL Ambulance has been in operation since 1977 in the Milwaukee area and has grown to be the largest provider of ambulance service in Wisconsin, responding to more than 100,000 ambulance calls annually. Our growth is continuing, and we need another Maintenance Technician to join the team.
In this role, you will provide high-level, fast-paced service to the company's facilities.
Under the direction of the Facility Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Utilizing your multi-disciplined technical skills, provide preventative/planned/reactive service to existing stations and other Bell Ambulance properties.
- Respond promptly to operational business needs related to the electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other systems associated with the facilities that house the crews and vehicles that respond to emergencies.
- Respond to damage that occurs during normal operations. This could include, but is not limited to, damage to buildings, gates, garage doors, shore power lines, or client residences.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the Facilities shop, vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Escorting of subcontractors or other service providers at company-owned properties.
- Landscaping duties including light snow removal, lawn care, vegetation trimming, and lot maintenance.
- Other miscellaneous tasks including, but are not limited to, transport and set up of event equipment, movement of general items such as furniture or other general items, general sweeping and organization, and assisting crews with back-of-the-house support tasks.
What you will need to be successful:
- Be an open minded, progressive thinker willing to work independently in an efficient and trustworthy manner.
- Willing to be part of an on-call schedule with the Facility Manager and other technicians.
- Utilize the computerized maintenance management system to document activities and service records.
- Be courageous and willing to collaborate with all members of the organization to develop long-range solutions to problems and needs.
- Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift in a safe manner, a minimum of 70 pounds to a minimum height of four feet.
Education and Skills
- A high school diploma or GED is required. A certificate from a trades program (specifically HVAC or Plumbing) is desirable.
- Ability to utilize technology required (PC, iPad, CMMS, BAS systems).
- Prior experience in a maintenance setting is desired.
- General knowledge of building systems, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, Automatic garage doors and gates.
- A valid driver's license, an acceptable driving record, and the ability to operate a large pickup with a trailer are required. A Commercial Driver's license is a plus.
- Ability to operate equipment such as a skid steer is highly desirable.
