What are the responsibilities and job description for the Probation Intake Officer position at Bellefontaine Municipal Court?
The intake officer reports to the Chief Probation Officer of the Bellefontaine Municipal Court and serves at the direction of the presiding Judge.
Job duties:
- Receiving cases directly from the court when they are sentenced to a term of community control. This includes reviewing terms of supervision and expectations of the court and probation department.
- Completion of risk assessment in Ohio Risk Assessment System to determine needs and supervision level of each individual.
- Supervision of cases on community control with an emphasis on step down cases from standard supervision.
- All other duties as designated by the Chief Probation Officer and or presiding Jude of the court.
- Maintaining the training standards of being a Probation Officer as determined by the Ohio Revised Code, the Ohio Supreme Court and the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation.
Minimum qualifications:
- Possess an associate degree in related field, law enforcement, social work, corrections, etc. or a bachelor's degree in any field.
- Possess a valid Ohio driver's license and not be prohibited from possessing a firearm.
- Two years of experience in related field.
- Ability to use computer systems and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ohio Risk Assessment System Certified.
Salary and benefits:
Starting pay $21-24 per hour based on experience plus benefits with salary and benefits being paid by fund. 203.
