Job Description
Title: CNC Waterjet Operator
Job Summary: Sets up and operates CNC Waterjet and Saw by performing the following duties.
CNC Waterjet Operator Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Sets up waterjet and produces machined parts.
· Verifies set-ups by measuring water jet positions and first-run parts using hand-held micrometers, calipers, load testing equipment.
· Performs in-process quality checks using hand-held micrometers and records results on appropriate documentation.
· Monitors waterjet operation both visually and audibly.
· Stops production when non-conformance is detected.
· Adjusts/reprograms controls; replaces worn tools.
· Gathers materials, sets up and operates saw.
· Documents adjustment and minor maintenance activities on appropriate documentation.
· Participates in continuous improvement activities.
· Works with the maintenance department to perform and document preventative maintenance daily/weekly, facilities maintenance and facility appearance as needed.
· Fulfills quality system requirements.
CNC Waterjet Operator Marginal Functions include the following:
· Sweeps, cleans, and organizes work area.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Education/Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent and one year’s experience in a manufacturing operation; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Waterjet operator experience preferred.
Math Abilities
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, & divide whole numbers.
Language Abilities
Ability to comprehend and communicate routine production information in written or spoken formats.
Computer Skills
Ability to use simple adjustments on lathe computer programs and use ERP software.
CNC Waterjet Operator Physical Abilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to regularly stand, bend, walk, see, hear, speak, reach, use hands and fingers; occasionally climb; lift up to 50 lbs. and up to 200 lbs. team lift occasionally.
CNC Waterjet Operator Other Qualifications
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, thickness, mics, and depth mics preferred.
Experience with manufacturing work in an ISO-9000-certified and/or Lean Manufacturing environment preferred.
