Job Responsibilities:

• Create 3D CAD models of new and existing design concepts using SolidWorks.
• Generate detailed drawings of new and existing design concepts.
• Adhere to and apply current industry drafting standards to detailed drawings.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to optimize new and existing designs.
• Maintain CAD files and corresponding documents in all existing data management systems.
• Process engineering change requests, updating all applicable documents and systems.
• Create all bills of materials specific to assigned product lines.
• Work with engineers, manufacturing personnel, and suppliers to ensure documentation meets company specifications.
• Work with the procurement team to support vendors with drawing packages.
• Occasional project estimating for custom products and or jobs.
• Participate in quality initiatives and training as required.

Requirements and skills:

• Experience with 3D design software (SolidWorks preferred).
• Experience with a variety of machining/manufacturing processes and designing for manufacturability. (CNC Machining, Laser Cutting, and Welding)
• Knowledge and use of MS Office with strong skills in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook.
• Knowledge of design techniques and principles in producing technical plans/drawings.
• Experience and hands-on knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
• Understand the application of basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Experience using engineering measurement tools such as calipers and
• micrometers.
• Strong organizational skills for keeping track of various projects and schedules.
• Independent self-starter and team-oriented. Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Education and Experience:

• Associate degree in Mechanical Design & Drafting. Applicable industry experience and education may be considered as an equivalent.
• 3 years of experience using 3D modeling softwear. SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Experience with steel manufacturing process (fabrication and welding).
