JOIN OUR CREW! We are a seeking qualified, experienced Accounting Clerk to assist with the supervision and coordination of the accounting operations in the property. Compiles, reviews, reconciles, prepares and analyzes entries to facilitate the bookkeeping function. Assists with the processing of financial statements and other reports to ensure accurate, timely information.
The position assists with the functions of Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Income Journal, General Cashiering, Taxes, and Internal Controls. In some instances, is responsible for the daily operation of an area (Credit Manager, F&B Controls, Accounts Receivable). Responsible and encouraged to make recommendations, suggest financial control changes and report SOP and procedural violations.
What you will have an opportunity to do:
We are looking for someone great with numbers, who is highly engaging and customer focused to join our team as Accounting Clerk. The successful candidate for this role is engaging, highly detailed, and is open to learning and leading by example, responds in a professional and courteous manner to guests and team, as well as being there to support the team both personally and professionally.
The Accounting clerk will ensure that all daily revenue transactions are reconciled and accounted for in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Accounting Clerk will also be responsible for the audit and posting of AP invoices for payment processing, as well as the preparation of checks with supporting documentation for signature approval. The Accounting Clerk is responsible for preparing and invoicing AR accounts.
Your Role:
- Train, direct the work, resolve problems and assist with the hiring and performance and salary reviews of the accounting employees.
- Prepare, review and reconcile daily postings, accruals, various general ledger accounts and bank statements to ensure accurate financial information is available.
- Compile, prepare, back-up and analyze period-end data on food and beverage costs and inventories (gift shop where applicable) to provide information and recommendations to management on current procedures and controls. Assist with the preparation of cost potentials as required.
- May supervise the accounts receivable function and perform the hotel's credit/collection and food and beverage control function to ensure accurate, timely and quality service and support to hotel customers and management.
- Review and monitor internal control procedures in the hotel. Areas included are Food and Beverage, Cashiering, Room Operations, etc.
- Assist with the compilation and preparation of the daily report, financial statement, periodic forecasts and annual budget
- to provide support to ensure timely, accurate information.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
- Participate in task forces and committees as requested.
- Travel -Minimal required for training classes, task force, etc.

What are we looking for?
Skills/Qualifications:
- High school or equivalent experience preferably in hotel accounting.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of hotel financial experience.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to compile facts and figures.
- Manual dexterity to use office equipment (i.e., computers, calculators, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to read and speak English fluently.
- Knowledge of hotel Finance procedures and systems.
- Excel proficiency is very important.
