Benesch is proud to announce the opening for a CLE Specialist in our Cleveland office! This position is hybrid and has work from home flexibility.
Position Summary:
Do you have experience with continuing education compliance? Are you an organization master and thrive on being the point person for all things when it comes to continuing education? Are you excited about an opportunity to work hand-in-hand with a small group as well as be involved with internal DEI organizations? The role of CLE Specialist may be the one you've been looking for! This role is designed for the professional who likes to keep busy and oversee the success of continuing education initiatives.
The CLE Specialist is the primary point of contact for CLE programming and compliance at Benesch. The CLE Specialist will work closely with Firm attorneys, the Professional Development team, and the Marketing team to ensure that the firm's CLE offerings are relevant, engaging, and aligned with the Firm's strategic goals. The CLE Specialist also has primary responsibility for supporting Benesch attorneys in meeting their individual CLE compliance requirements. This person also provides support to our WIN (Women's Initiative), ADC (Associate Development Committee), and Diversity & Inclusion Initiatives.
Essential Functions:
1. Support the planning, development, and implementation of CLE programs for the Firm's attorneys and clients, serving as a subject matter expert to ensure programs comply with CLE accreditation requirements and meet the standards of the Benesch brand.
2. Stay updated on the CLE rules and regulations for the jurisdictions where the Firm operates and the jurisdictions to which the Firm frequently applies for accreditation; conduct research as needed to answer questions.
3. Prepare and submit CLE applications and reports to the relevant jurisdictions; ensure the timely and accurate compliance with jurisdictions' rules for all Firm CLE programs.
4. Maintain and update the Firm's CLE database and records for firm-sponsored programming, including program registration, attendance, evaluation, and certificates.
5. Support Benesch attorneys in tracking their CLE credits earned and planning for meeting CLE compliance requirements.
6. Provide information to attorneys and professional staff regarding mandatory CLE Rules and Regulations and the requirements to make seminars eligible for the appropriate CLE credit.
7. Work closely with our Marketing Department in planning off-site client CLE seminars, including coordinating accreditation.
8. Maintain department documents in accordance with regulator requirements, including CLE attendance sheets, program invitations, evaluations, etc.
9. Monitor weekly attorney arrivals, departures, and transfers; update relevant software and files accordingly and communicate CLE requirements or status as appropriate.
10. Prepare statistical reports as required by regulators; prepare a year-end report for inclusion in larger department Annual Report for internal stakeholders.
11. Work with the Marketing department and the PD Coordinator to publicize CLE programming, both internally and externally.
12. Maintain the CLE resources content on the Firm's intranet.
13. Be a superuser / subject matter expert for the Firm's CLE tracking software; troubleshoot system issues as appropriate.
14. Work with the Director of Professional Development to manage the CLE budget and expenses.

Qualifications:
The Continuing Legal Education Specialist must have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience. 2 to 3 years of experience with CLE or other professional services continuing education compliance is required. Experience working in a law firm is strongly preferred. Must have excellent attention to detail and be able to multi-task and manage detailed processes successfully. Must be team-oriented with a client service focus and have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills are required. Knowledge of CLE software, such as CE Manager, or learning management systems preferred.
