Benjamin Moore is currently looking for an ambitious and self-motivated individual to join our sales leadership team. You will manage, motivate and develop a high-performing & sustainable sales team in collaboration with the Director of Sales, HQ sales, and all market team members. The Area Sales Manager is accountable for the sales growth and success of Benjamin Moore and retailers in the market. Responsible for managing resources, coordinating program rollouts, and foster a customer-centric environment delighting segmented customers and end users. This role is responsible for the markets in Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, and South Carolina. The ideal candidate will reside in the Washington DC metro area.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide coaching, leadership and direction while upholding Benjamin Moore values and fostering operational excellence at all times
- Provide timely and accurate performance feedback and mentor others, groom employees for advancement
- Motivate and empower your team to deliver results through constructive problem solving, facilitating creative improvements and inspiring others
- Lead employee development by identifying educational and training needs
- Manage performance and daily activities through personal involvement to grow market share and steadily drive profitable sales for Benjamin Moore & Co.
- Construct and execute local plans, timelines & milestones that support company initiatives
- Manage allocated resources and budgets in a profit conscious manner
- Regular check-ins with team members on progress towards sales, performance and growth goals
- Works with customers to anticipate and interpret customer needs and business challenges
- Identify both struggling & successful sales initiatives and explore ways to improve on metrics.
Required Knowledge & Desired Skills

- College degree preferred and 5-7 years equivalent business experience (industry preferred)
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record is a must
- Willingness & ability to travel (in region with team 80%) & work evenings/weekends
- Bilingual as appropriate for territory
