Bennington College is seeking a Technical Instructor in Video & Design/Animation to work closely with faculty, IT staff and students. The position is responsible for providing technical assistance in support of the Video and Design/Animation curriculum, maintaining and scheduling the video editing and multimedia design facilities including animation studio, and managing student monitors of the Video and Design/Animation facilities. The position also involves monitoring computer usage and disk space, repairs and maintenance, troubleshooting student problems, providing instruction on equipment, overseeing the video equipment checkout facility, training and overseeing student workers, and responding to video and multimedia design faculty requests.
Candidates should possess a working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, other Adobe Creative Suite software, and MacIntosh hardware/software troubleshooting skills; knowledge of animation software programs such as Dragonframe and Autodesk Maya would be beneficial. The ideal candidate will have experience shooting with card-based HD camcorders, DSLRs, as well as experience working with lighting equipment, professional microphones, projection and installation equipment, and recording techniques. A Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degree preferred. The position works year-round and offers a comprehensive benefits package. The position is scheduled to begin in August 2020.
