What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Buyer position at Benteler Group?
Program Buyer is responsible for executing the purchasing and contracting of material and suppliers for various OEM Programs. The Program Buyer will work with the Program Managers to understand the scope of the project, to include components, raw material, coatings and overall timing in order to execute procurement of goods that meet or exceed the requirements of the program in relationship to components, quality, on time, and under budget.
Your Chance
- Create RFQ’s capturing basic requirements and all program relevant information
- Expedite quotes and align when received, ensuring quotes are to program/company requirements.
- Coordinate Technical reviews with suppliers and Quality Group
- Interface with Commodity Buyers to understand current strategy by commodity for supplier recommendations.
- Ensures adherence to all purchasing policies, guidelines and procedures.
- Prepares all documents needed in order to review w/ management for Global sourcing.
- Ability to handle multiple projects (multi-task)
- Track status of the programs including financial status and status of milestones to ensure overall program timing is met.
- Overall responsible for ordering, order confirmation maintenance and on time delivery of project requirements.
- Track changes (ECR’s)
- Ensures the contractual documents accurately reflect the terms and conditions of purchase, including payment terms, freight, terms, incoterms and other key commercial terms.
- Pre build ordering and tracking
- Supports the entire PO process in the respective ERP system.
- Build relationships with project team to help drive process improvements
- Actively represents sourcing and procurement issues relating to the sourcing GSM
- Demonstrates high level customer focus and sense of urgency.
Your Personality
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field
- 3-5 years Program Buying experience
- 2 years automotive industry experience
- Occasional travel required (approx. 10%)
- Skill in the following areas: Negotiation, Cost Analysis, APQP, Project management
