Position Overview:
The Tax Liaison will support the Payroll Implementation team with the onboarding of clients’ tax information. This position will be working with and supporting the Payroll Implementation Specialists and Payroll Tax Specialists to ensure the accuracy of historical information and company tax setup. This position provides excellent customer service to our internal customers and will assist in the education of upcoming changes in Tax guidelines to teams as well as helping to support the Tax team when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Verify tax liability information in our payroll software and confirm it matches the client’s previous payroll provider.
- Determine current quarter FUTA and SUI liability amounts to be impounded from the customer.
- Ensure liabilities are tied out in MasterTax correctly.
- Review and resolution of client requests; work through various questions, system setups, etc.
- Maintain the flow of projects and ensure tasks are completed in alignment with timeline.
- Complete the assignment of client ticket requests via ConnectWise ticketing system.
- Work to resolve basic internal team member requests and questions.
- Assists in training and mentoring team members.
- Work with internal and external individuals to answer questions, resolve issues, and share information.
- Recommend/implement changes to improve efficiency.
- Stay informed and in compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements and regulations.
- Stay up to date on software changes/enhancements to optimize software utilization.
- Monitor out-of-balance reports for various taxes on a weekly basis.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail, as well as reliability to carry out daily functions in an efficient manner.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple and competing priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Knowledge of payroll processes a plus
- 1-3 years of experience writing procedures preferred.
- Technical aptitude
- BA/BS Degree in business administration, communication, or other related fields preferred.
