In the Economics, Damages and Forensic Accounting practice at BRG, we advise and provide our clients with financial, accounting, valuation, and economic analyses in disputes. This position requires a highly motivated problem solver with strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and a desire to advance within the organization by furthering analytical skills and project management responsibilities. The work will be both qualitative or quantitative in nature, and projects range from industry and subject-matter research to data collection to the preparation of statistical, financial, and other forms of analysis.
One of our newer testifying experts and Managing Director is seeking an Associate Director and Case Manager where you will be a key part of a team delivering forensic accounting and litigation consulting to corporate clients and their legal advisors. Much of the work will be to support investigations and/or disputes for our clients covering a wide range of industries. You will start to develop strong enough relationships that allow you to become a future revenue generating expert.
- Obtain understanding of engagement and the relevant financial, accounting, and/or economic analyses to be performed.
- Review and analyze case-specific information to produce an in-depth and rigorous analysis relevant to the case at hand and have flexibility as the dispute evolves.
- Must be comfortable overseeing, analyzing, and interpreting large amounts of complex financial data, and presenting any key findings to the underlying client and to senior members of the engagement team at BRG.
- Responsible for coordinating and communicating with all engagement stakeholders, from junior staff to senior project leaders, and should have the ability to seamlessly step into each role when circumstances warrant.
- Competency in preparing detailed and persuasive expert reports, presentations, and trial demonstratives.
- Ability to perform rigorous analyses that can withstand legal scrutiny and any efforts of opposing parties to cast doubt on the reasonableness and quality of our work.
- Competent in utilizing technology to enhance the quality and efficiency of BRG’s work product.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues across BRG's offices and various business practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting with a CPA (MBA is a plus).
- Minimum eight (8) years of experience working for an accounting or consulting firm in an audit or forensic accounting capacity (significant transaction advisory experience will be considered as well).
- Big 4 or other large accounting / advisory firm experience.
- Experience with research software such as LexisNexis, Factiva, JSTOR, Bloomberg, and Capital IQ are desirable.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements (e.g., GAAP, and the relationship between debits and credits and statement of cash flow, income statement, balance sheet, and trial balance).
- Advanced user of Excel in addition to other Microsoft Office products.
- Capability with relational database program(s) are desirable (e.g., MS SQL Server, MS Access, MySQL, Oracle), statistical analysis programs (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata, R, and Python).
Salary Range: $125,000- $190,000
