Supply Chain Manager

Summary:

Manages and coordinates production and inventory planning, distribution center planning, purchasing, and co-packer management throughout the entire organization. Partners with all facilities and functions to drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization’s supply chain.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Hires, develops, and mentors direct reports through training, constructive feedback, career development, performance management, and succession planning.

2. Production and Inventory Planning

• Schedules and coordinates production of Pizza and Crusts at each assigned Bernatello’s facility. Maintains inventory level within age of stock quality guidelines while still providing top customer service levels. Communicates schedules to all appropriate Bernatello’s associates.
• Conducts timely review of product orders, determines availability of finished product quantities, specifications and order fill dates.
• Prepares weekly/monthly/yearly production plan and schedules for all assigned Bernatello’s facilities. Maintains a consistent planning timeframe within all production areas to create a stable, yet customer focused and workable, production plans. Balances production levels among the assigned network of Bernatello’s facilities.
• Maintains effective communication links with Sales, Operations, Quality department and Warehouse/Distribution employees to ensure customer order fill rates meet corporate objectives.
• Coordinates cross functionally and leads bi-weekly production coordination meeting, prepare agenda and key action summary documents.
• Measures schedule attainment vs plan and works to analyze/troubleshoot items that are repeated issues. Prepares and publishes Production Summary and provides insight for variance from schedule.
• Sets annual objectives and goals and utilize KPI’s that are consistent with Company and Operations strategic plans.
• Provides analysis and summary of inventory status, planned production and product mix.
• Advises the sales group on order change requests impacting inventory.

3. Distribution Center Planning

• Reviews data and acts to ensure that all distribution centers have product available within age of stock quality guidelines at all times.
• Determines inventory levels for each distribution center based on Bernatello’s KPI’s such as Fill Rate and Inventory Carrying Costs, etc.
• Looks for seasonal trends and anomalies across the distribution system (and within specific distribution centers) to have better foresight on potential spikes or depressions in sales volumes.
• Responsible for all organizing and entering transfer orders coming into and out of the distribution centers and production plants.
• Collaborates with the Transportation department to maintain high level of efficiency/utilization on loads and backhauls.

4. Purchasing

• Plans and executes procurement of raw materials from pre-approved network of suppliers.
• Maintains strong working relationships and communications with manufacturing and key suppliers to confirm production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders for all orders to ensure on-time deliveries.
• Proactively report product and material availability issues.
• Coordinates planning and replenishment of raw materials in a manner that supports company objectives pertaining to customer service and inventory levels.
• Identifies and utilize the most efficient replenishment model for each raw material, including but not limited to MRP/VMI/Min Max/Re-Order Point/etc.
• Revises essential system planning data to ensure effective replenishment of raw material future requirements.
• Enters and maintains purchase orders in company ERP system as appropriate.
• Manages, as appropriate, quality matters and product changes/developments between company activities and suppliers.

4. Co-Packer Management

• Effectively manages all aspects of the Bernatello’s co-packing network - function as main point of contact for all co-packers
• Identifies and participates in certification of potential Bernatello’s co-packers.
• Schedules all co-pack production for multiple SKU’s within various product families. Acts as leader for inventory management functions at co-packers, including cycle counting and inventory reconciliation.
• Ensures timely delivery of raw materials (from both internal and external suppliers) to Co-Packers. Using Bernatello’s quality guidelines and knowledge of the product, identify the raw material to use in the co-pack process.
• Perform essential inventory and production control operations within Bernatello’s ERP System to ensure that all new finished production has been entered and that raw materials have been relieved.
• All other duties that evolve in the co-pack process.

Education

• Bachelors or better in Business Economics or related field
