Primary Purpose and Essential Duties
The Contract Manager supports the coordination, compliance, and analysis of all design-build, construction, and construction management contracts and subcontracts (“Agreements”). This individual will assist in managing risk and compliance in transactions through the entire pre-construction, construction, and closeout phases. Specific responsibilities include:
- Analyze and understand the general obligations of all parties to Agreements for the Contract Manager’s assigned project.
- Ensure company compliance with Agreements, especially high risk obligations.
- Identify, and, with the project team, mitigate specific high risk liabilities arising from Agreements.
- Create a checklist matrix for risk management and Agreement compliance, updating such matrix from pre-construction to closeout.
- Monitor Agreement risks and verify risk mitigation, providing weekly updates to the project team.
- Document project activities related to the such identified high risk Agreement compliance matters.
- Coordinate Agreement compliance with the project team, providing Agreement notices as needed.
- Before or during closeout, verify all contract compliance risks arising under Agreements have been completed.
- Provide closeout documentation, including the completed checklist risk matrix, demonstrating the company compliance with Agreements.
This position is Full Time, Exempt (for purposes of the FLSA), and reports to the Vice President.
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience managing contracts in construction industry.
- Must have prior experience with administering, analyzing, and executing construction contracts.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of basic contract law principles and terminology.
- Exhibit deep analysis and strong attention to detail.
- Possess superior organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with shifting deadlines.
- Must have strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with legal, business, finance, and technical professionals.
- Shall require long periods of sitting or standing at a desk in front of a computer in the office environment.

- Occasional travel up to 10%
