Primary Function:
The EHS Manager is responsible for leading Environmental Health and Safety programs for the Pryor, Oklahoma facility. The position reports directly to the Pryor Plant Manager with dotted line responsibility to the Regional EHS Manager. This position also helps ensure compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that may impact the organization.
Implement and maintain company policies adhering to local, state, and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.- Maintain accurate and complete Environmental, Health and Safety records in accordance with governing regulations and company policies
- Keep abreast of any changes to EHS related laws and regulations that may impact the organization.
- Involved in the design, development, coaching, training and administration of environmental, health and safety systems and programs in both facilities.
- Serve as primary EHS contact with federal, state and regulatory bodies.
- Encourage and maintain high employee involvement in safety and health systems
- Responsible for ensuring EHS program training for new hires and annual training for all employees.
- Develop and conduct new EHS training programs as needed
- Conduct incident investigations including "root cause analysis" for corrective action
- Manage Workman’s Compensation cases
- Perform and/or ensure work-site and incident trend analysis to sustain a comprehensive system for hazard prevention and control
- Responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy, procedures and manuals

Must have strong leadership qualities. Must have a solid background in coaching and tracking program accomplishments. Requires 4-7 years of experience in the EHS field or in a related field area in a manufacturing environment. CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or equivalent preferred, or ability to obtain.

Ability to effectively coordinate EHS activity in multiple departments. Maintain a professional manner with all co-workers. Ability to multi-task and perform well under pressure. Must possess excellent written and verbal skills. Above average computer skills and the ability to learn new systems. Ability to walk, stand, kneel, climb stairs, and all other physical activities over the course of a shift. Ability to execute all instructions and projects as assigned by Plant Manager working with limited supervision. Experience with standard concepts, practices, and procedures regarding environmental, health and safety programs. Must be able to exhibit good judgment and sound decision making.

Education
